The SECRET ALPHABET PROJECT began as a performance in which models were painted with unidentifiable symbols that resembled written text. These ‘secret alphabets’ represent coded information. Each piece is a visual exploration of this theme: information transmission, communication, comprehension, messengers, and more. Much of the work is monochromatic, which suggests the aesthetic of printed material and highlights the simple elegance and abstract forms of the sets of symbols. This ongoing project includes photographs, videos, large format drawings, mixed media collages, and small installations.
